The globally renowned electronic goods manufacturer, Samsung Electronics is reportedly prepping up its upcoming range of 4G tablets as per the online reports. After the launch of its Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1 inch models, the company is planning for a 4G version of its Tab devices based on LTE technology.

As part of that strategy, Mr. Shin said Samsung is in talks with carriers in South Korea and the U.S. to launch a tablet running on a technology called long-term evolution, or LTE. This so-called fourth-generation technology promises faster download speeds than the current third-generation platform, allowing consumers faster access to such applications as TV programs, movies and video conferencing as per a report posted on WSJ.com.

If it is true, then very soon Samsung will introduce tablet devices suppporting 4G Networks and pose stiff competition to the existing tablets in the market. It is expected that  the company would introduce its first 4G-enabled tablet in the market by this year end.

Samsung India spokesperson proclaimed that the Galaxy Tab 10.1-inch will be launched around June-July this year in India. Samsung India head, Ranjit Yadav stated, "We will launch the 10-inch tablet PC at around Rs. 35,000 and the 8-inch device will be priced around Rs. 28,000. While the tablet PC market today stands at around 25,000 units a quarter, we expect it to grow exponentially here on."

Whereas in India, 3G services are in the initial phase of its roll out and users in the country are eagarly awaiting for the launch of Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Incidentally, tech experts have predicted that India will be ready for 4G by 2012. On that lines, we expect that it will a long wait for Indian consumers to lay their hands on a 4G-enabled tablet device in this country.
