Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 to get Gingerbread update

Sony Ericsson has recently announced that Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) update will be soon coming for its new Xperia X10 smartphone. The new Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is already available in India along with other Xperia series devices.

The spokesperson of Sony Ericson India has recently confirmed to the media the launch of Gingerbread update for Xperia X10. However, the exact date of the its availability is not yet disclosed. Although, it is expected to be rolled out by Q3 this year.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 already includes the required hardware to for successful porting of Android 2.3 Gingerbread update. There is a 1GHz processor and 384 MB RAM, which will support the latest Android OS. Other than this, the company will make all the required arrangements to make the Gingerbread run flawlessly on the device.

With this upcoming update, the company may also add the Facebook app with the Xperia X10 device, which was announced at the introduction of the latest array of Xperia Mini smartphones. With this update, users will enjoy social networking site Facebook on their handset much more conveniently.
