Apple has unveiled its latest iOS 5, yesterday at the Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco. It was in the rumours for a long time and now finally the new OS has been announced at the WWDC event.
It is a great news for all those people who were anticipating the next iPhone operating system. The latest iOS 5 comprises social networking options along with iMessage, Newsstand, Notification Center, Twitter Integration among 200 new attributes.
Let us tell you in detail what all the new iOS 5 brings to the users of iPhone devices.
iMessage
This is this the Apple’s messaging service that works on the Apple devices. The iMessage application lets's you exchanging text messages, videos, images, or contact information with a person or a group on other iOS 5 enabled gadgets through Wi-Fi or 3G. The iMessage automatically pushes to the iOS devices, while also attributes delivery and read receipts, typing indication and some other secure options.
Newsstand
This new feature added to this version of iOS, which provides conveniently organizing a bookshelf that displays the covers of newspapers and magazines. The has added a new section in the App Store just for subscription titles. This latest attribute ensures users to swiftly find newspapers and magazines across the globe.
Notifications Center
Usually we all get disturbed while playing games or even while watching movies, dude to the notification alerts flashing across the screen. But not any more, as the new iOS 5, aggregates all the notifications due to the Notification Center. Now in this application, notifications appear briefly at the top of the screen without interrupting the users.
Twitter
This latest version of the iOS has a deeply connected to Twitter, which allows you to tweet instantly from all your Twitter-based apps, comprising Images, Camera, Safari, YouTube and Maps with a single tap, just after signing in once.
Safari
The new iOS 5 allows you to send content from the page instead of emailing it with the some newly added features to Safari. Some of the main features added are Safari Reader, Tabbed Browsing and Reading List, which has made it more convenient then ever to flip among multiple web pages while browsing.
In addition to this the company has also come up with some excellent apps that makes iOS 5 even better.
Camera and Photos apps
Apple has always had some limitations in their device's cameras, despite of including one of the best cameras. Which will not persist any more, as the new iOS 5 you provides instant access to the camera directly from the lock screen. You just have to press volume-up button to get instant access to the camera for getting quick snap. Where as, this is not the end of camera features improvement, as it also allows you to quickly edit the clicked images through cropping, resizing, and even organizing the images in the photo album of your handset.
Reminders App
This is really a very useful app for those, who keep on forgetting the things due to multiple tasks or extreme load of work. The newly introduced app assists you managing all the tasks, through setting time or location based reminder alerts, which keeps you reminding all the stuffs you have to do.
PC-Free feature
As the feature's name clears it self that the iOS 5 enabled devices does not require a PC to do most of the simple stuffs, like earlier. Most of the users used to complain about iOS gadgets that they have to be paired with a PC to perform simple tasks like even starting up the handset for the first time or just for updating a firmware. Now, this problem has also been solved in the iOS 5.
Game Center
In the Game Center, the only way to get new updates was personalization. Whereas, the new iOS allows you to add a profile picture and even add friends conveniently as well as buy new games from the app itself. However, this is not a great achievement, but the company at-least realized there are some improvements required.
Split keyboard
Apple has also improvised its keyboard that’s bundled with iOS gadgets. The company has now come up with a drastic change to the design of its keyboards by splitting it into two parts. This will allow the more easier and faster text input then ever, though it would be particularly useful for iPad users.
Air-Play Mirroring
Apple has improved its mirroring feature and now you can easily connect wirelessly to an Apple TV to mirror the data on an HDTV. This ensures that you will not require any cables for it.
