RIM delays BlackBerry Bold 9900 launch

Research in Motion has delayed the launch of its upcoming BlackBerry Bold 9900 touch and typed device. The smartphone lovers, who were waiting for the release of the mobile phone will have to be patient for some more time, before the official announcement.

There were rumours online last month that RIM will be releasing its BlackBerry Bold touch and type phones in the Q2 end soon after the gadgets were unveiled at the BlackBerry World conference. The device is not yet officially annouced and reportedly, it has been delayed for the time being.

The most awaited BlackBerry Bold 9900 supports 4G networks, with HSPA+">HSPA+ data connectivity, which makes it really advanced. The smartphone includes a 1.2 GHz processor that works at almost double the pace in comparison to the processors of the present BlackBerry devices. Besides, there is a 768 MB RAM that provides smooth functioning and multitasking without any hitch.

The device will pack 8GB onboard memory for data storage; however, it will also support up to 32GB of SDHC cards for memory expansion. The the phone's OS has also been completely revamped. The upcoming Bold Touch smartphone will run BlackBerry OS 7, which offers excellent performance.

The BlackBerry device sports a 2.8-inch display, offering 640 x 480 pixel resolution. The gadget provides more vibrant graphics, together with the capacitive touch interface. It will have a support for Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to offer touch-less transactions. Whereas, the new OS will be providing support to the augmented reality applications.

The BlackBerry Bold 99000 Touch and type is expected to be priced around Rs 25,000. But as of now, it seems that BlackBerry lovers will have to wait for some more time before this device gets officially announced.
