
China-based ForMe Mobiles launches budget phones in India

The low cost Chinese handsets are already very popular in the Indian market. One of the leading China-based mobile phone brands in India G'Five. There are several other entry-level but feature rich Chinese phones available in the semi-urban market at throwaway prices.
Taking the cue from the success of G'Five, ForMe Mobiles has now entered into the mobile market of India. A brand of ForMe Communications Technology of China, ForMe Mobiles is based in Meital Industrial Park in Shenzhen, China. The company claims to produce 11.5 million sets annually.
On the occasion of the launch, Jiang Delong, Founder, ForMe, said, "With reasonable price of the product, the company is confident of making a dent in the market." ForMe has entered the Indian mobile phone market through Peace Telecom India, a subsidiary of Peace Telecom, a trading company based in Hong Kong.
In the first phase, Cricketer Murali Vijay, the brand ambassador of ForMe Mobiles in India, unveiled five dual SIM models in South India priced between Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 5,000. ForMe Mobiles further plans to add two new models every month.
"Currently, we will be launching five new dual SIM models with all the latest features at the most economical prices," said Abdul Gaffar, Director of Peace Telecom India. He said the phones will have a one year warranty and will adhere to strict quality control.
The company plans to sell one lakh handsets in the four southern states, of which about 20,000 to 25,000 mobile phones in Chennai. With the launch of cheap ForMe Mobiles, a new low in the price war can be seen among the mobile phone makers to grab the entry-level handset segment in the Indian market.
