The HP's latest tablet TouchPad is all set to be released in US next month. The TouchPad will be on sale from July 1st in US and it will be the Wi-Fi variant of its new tablet device. The company is also planning to offer a 3G model through AT&T "later this summer," as per an HP official.
The HP tablet will also be available in some other countries very soon, which are France, U.K and Germany, after its launch in U.S. The device will be available in two different models, which are priced at $499.99 for a 16GB Wi-Fi model or $599.99 for a 32GB Wi-Fi model.
Mr. Jon Rubinstein, the senior vice president and general manager of HP's Palm business unit, says, "What makes HP TouchPad a compelling alternative to competing products is WebOS."
He further added, "The platform's unmatched features and flexibility will continue to differentiate HP products from the rest of the market for both personal and professional use."
The HP TouchPad will offer a front- and rear-facing cameras, and web OS operating system, developed by Palm. This HP's iPad-killer tablet supports a 9.7 inch display and includes a powerful a Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core 1.2 GHz processor. Also, the device weighs just 740-grams.
There is no official word on the HP TouchPad's launch in India but we expect that the device will be available soon here as HP laptops and desktops are already very popular here in the corporate world.
