MSI unveils 10-inch WindPad 110W tablet in India

The specialist in motherboard and video cards, Micro-Star International (MSI) launched a 10 inch tablet along with a latest gaming series laptop and N580GTX Lightning Xtreme graphic card for the Indian consumers during Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) event in India. According to MSI press release, the company is also looking at introducing two new series of tablets in India by next month.
MSI India General Manager Eric Kuo said at the event, "India, currently, is just about two per cent of our global revenues. Going ahead, we see a huge opportunity here and we would bring in the latest technology through our products. Our aim is to be among the top 3 brands in India, in the next two years and for that we need to have monthly sales of 20,000-30,000 units, so I would say that is the sales target that we have set for ourselves to achieve in the next two years."
WindPad 110W comes equipped with Microsoft’s Office Starter 2010 word processing software and includes Office Word 2010 and Office Excel 2010, making the tablet a handy device for all your office needs. Powered by a ARM Cortex-A9 dual core processor architecture and Android 2.3 operating system, the WindPad 110W sports a G-Sensor, ALS, and memory upto 32GB. Offering a battery life of 8 hrs, the device weighs 720 gms and comes with SD card support and USB ports. The pricing of the device have not been confirmed yet.
Alongside mobile phones, India has witnessed a surge in the Indian Tablet market. Tapping on the aspiration of the consumers to experience the tablets, several manufacturers are offering a wide range of tablets catering to the value and budget consious Indians.
Among the list of popular tablets we have the HP's TouchPad which is all set to be released in US next month. The device which will be available in two different models is likely to hit Indian shores by September.
Another android based tablet that has caught the attention of Indian consumers is the HTC flyer, which is now available on pre-order. The Android OS based tablet packs in excellent social networking tools, that assures connectivity with your family and friends. RIM is also going to launch its tablet device BlackBerry PlayBook next week on June 22.
With so many tablets making their way to India, it signals a tough competition for the manufacturers and a plenty of choices for the consumers.
