TigerText - A securtity threat in India?

The TigerText app for free messaging is giving fresh concerns to the security agencies due to its unique 'self-destructing messages' features for the users.
With this software, sender's can time all the messages, videos and photographs for deletion on a recipient's handset. Simply put, users have the choice to auto delete their messages on other's device by pre-setting the time for deletion for the messages sent to the mobile phones.
"You can have complete control over your messaging with messages that auto delete when you want! With TigerText you regain peace of mind and privacy over the personal data you send, setting when they disappear. Once a TigerText message is gone, it’s gone, so feel a little better about your texting last night!"
Now this unique free messaging service is under Government of India's radar as this service may pose security threats in India. The Union Home Ministry has issued a directive to the DoT asking them to direct service providers to ensure proper legal interception before its launch in phones in the country.
"Before the launch of this service, proper arrangements for legal interception, monitoring and prior approval of the legal enforcement agencies is required," the directive issued to DoT states.
However, Brent Bamberger, head of marketing for Tiger Text said, "TigerText is surprised by the comments by the Indian government as it has consumers using its application in 119 countries with no issues whatsoever."
Meanwhile Bamberger said that TigerText welcomes the opportunity to talk with the Indian security agencies or telecommunications companies to help them understand the product as the company does not want Indian consumers to suffer from not being allowed to receive the benefits of its service, reports The Mobile Indian.
Compatible with handsets like iPhone, Android and BlackBerry, TigerText services offers complete control over the message lifespan either through your default setting or on a message-by-message basis as you send. In this light, the Home Ministry has cautioned that the use of this service by Indian service providers may create problems for legal enforcement agencies in their operational activities.
