We are having a tablet overdose. But still we can't seem to have enough of tablets news, specially as they continue to lure and excite us with their offerings. We don't blame them, the competition is getting quite stiff and the only one can drag the other out of limelight is by showcasing something better. So, today it is the Amazon tablet which is in the spotlight. After the success of their Kindle e-reader, Amazon is now preparing to unveil its Android tablets with a free movie streaming service for the early birds.
In addition Amazon is also offering services like AppStore which offers one free paid app everyday and Cloud Locker music streaming service.
Amazon definitely has what it takes to give stiff competition to its competitors. At the moment only the Motorola Xoom tablet has access to the Android Market's streaming service.
According to BGR the two Amazon tablets will be codenamed "Coyote" and "Hollywood." Coyote will be a cheaper tablet powered by NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, while the Hollywood tablet will be almighty powerful and come equipped with a quad-core NVIDIA processor.
According to rumors, the tablets will sport a10-inch display. Pegged to be released around the holiday time ( no guesses why?), the Kindle is expected to cost around Rs 20,000 ($399), lesser than Apple iPad. While most of the Android tablets are coming with the preferred gingerbread version, it is unclear right now if Amazon tablet will be dipped in the 2.3 version too.
It is also speculated that the Amazon's tablet may also rope in Google apps such as Gmail or Google Voice and offer MP3 store, Cloud Drive, cloud storage network drive, Kindle Store, Instant video recording and many other features.
Despite offering a tempting bundle, Amazon tablets will have to compete with Apple's iPad, BlackBerry PlayBook, Samsung Galaxy Tab, Motorola Xoom and several other tablets already available in the market.
The exact date of release has not yet been announced by the Amazon, but now that the price point seems to be a little settled, we say another month or less. We will keep you updated on all the latest Amazon Tablets news so stay tuned.
