Huawei releases a sneak peak video of MediaPad

Huawei recently released a teaser of its highly anticipated Android powered tablet. Dubbed MediaPad, the device has been rumored to be the smallest and lightest tablet released by a Chinese manufacturer. The first 25 seconds of the teaser show a girl playing around with the MediaPad while listening to the music.

The device in the sneak peek video sports a white color and the ease with which the girl switches the device around gives a impression that it is light weight. We can also see a camera strapped to the back of the device and we are quite certain that there will be one in the front too for video calling. The rest of the 19 seconds of the ad were a waste, and show a guy dripping his sauce on the girl (ewww!!) and then you have a bunch of other guys in the frame pressing something on the MediaPad.



The ad doesn't reveal anything else about the product, but we hear that the company has promised to divulge the details on June 20.  Yes that's the day the chinese manufacturer is looking at unveiling its tablet to the media, before unveiling it in front of millions across the world at the CommunicAsia 2011 show in Singapore.

Rumor has it that this 'next generation smart device' will be powered by Android 3.0 OS and sport a 7 inch screen. Huawei claims “the MediaPad is our smartest, smallest and lightest tablet ever – guaranteed to transform the consumer’s entertainment experience”.

Huawei's tablet enters the market at a time, when the competition is quite stiff and increasingly becoming Andro-crowded. The major challenge the company will face will be to differentiate itself from the other tablets. Hopefully on June 20 Huawei will surprise everybody.

The company which is popularly known for its entry level phones recently launched its Ideos range of budget smartphones - IDEOS X5, IDEOS X2 and IDEOS Chat in the Indian market. Among the three smartphones IDEOS Chat is the cheapest at Rs 8,199 and comes equipped with Android OS, QWERTY keyboard and useful Google search through dedicated keys among others.
