Nokia unveils its third dual SIM, Touch and Type phone Nokia C2-03

"We maybe late to the party but we are in full swing," said Mary McDowell, Head of Nokia's Mobile Phones business unit during the Nokia Connection 2011, before she unveiled the newest member to the dual SIM family. The new entrant is Nokia C2-03 and comes with dual SIM capabilities like its siblings C2-02 and C2-06 but the first such form factor to feature dual-SIM.

Unlike Nokia C2-02 which is more of a basic dual SIM handset featuring a single SIM version coupled with push messaging options and IM providers or Nokia C2-06, a clean and smooth finish phone that comes with all the the above features in addition to a range of colors, Nokia C2-03 packs in a whole lot more. Nokia C2-03 allows users to personalize up to five SIM cards and has an easy swap option that lets users change SIM cards in seconds without having to go through the cumbersome process of removing phone cover or battery.

"These phones all offer a web, maps and messaging experience second to none in the market. And with the choice of a touch screen or a keypad, we really have made everything available and easy to use in an affordable phone that comes in both Dual or single SIM options," said McDowell highlighting the Nokia Strategy of connecting the next billion consumers to the internet.

All the three phones will be shipped with new Nokia Maps for Series 40. What's new about the New Nokia maps is that they come pre installed in the phone with local maps and places of interest, which would enable the users to view maps and plan routes in an offline mode too. Not to mention it will be lighter on the wallets since users will be saving on the costs of downloading. That's not the only saving you will be making. The phones also promise to provide a great browsing experience through data compression technology to almost 90 percent, which will again offer pay less and get more options for the mobile users.

Emphasizing on creating a local content rich ecosystem, McDowell added, "the technology behind the Nokia Browser means that consumers, especially those new to the mobile internet, can get the information they need quickly, as the Nokia Browser serves up relevant local content - making the whole experience more personal and enjoyable."

All phones pack in FM radio, media player and memory support which is expandable to 32 GB, giving ample of storage space for your music, videos and photos.

The Nokia C2-02, C2-03 and C2-06 are all expected to hit the market later this year. The The Nokia C2-02, C2-03 will be priced for Rs. 5000 and C2-06 for Rs. 5,600 approximately.
