Another leaked image of Sony Ericsson Xperia Duo surfaces online

Published on Jun 22, 2011

The Sony Ericsson's upcoming phone Xperia Duo which is rumored to be equipped with a dual-core processor was leaked out by Chinese forums recently. Though quite smudged you can see the  Xperia branding at the top of the phone. While there was no confirmation on the hardware aspect, the leaked picture does confirm the Duo to have a unique near edge-to-edge screen. The leaked picture also showcased three physical button which would probably perform the menu, home and back functions.

Pitted next to its sibling Xperia Arc, which gained immense popularity in India thanks to its 4.2-inch display and amazing camera capabilities, the Duo is expected to showcase a bigger screen. So, we are looking at maybe 4.4 or 4.5 inch screen. From the picture it looks like the UI has been tweaked and includes a bunch of changes like the weather widget and options at the bottom like videos, contacts, messages.

We know that Xperia Arc measures 125 x 63 in dimensions, trimmed down to 8.7 mm, looking at the Duo picture we see some similarity in the curves though it is a tad bit bigger than its sibling. We gave Arc a 10 on 10 for its style quotient, and if Duo is planning to knock its bro, it will have to come packed with even stunning features.

There is some whispering regarding a 8MP camera or a 16MP camera with Exmor R sensor and 1080p HD video recording capabilities. The other specifications surrounding Duo are a mystery, though plenty of rumors suggesting that this maybe the flagship product from the Sony stable for this year.

So far two leak images have surfaced and they seem to be giving us a clearer view of the device, could this mean a approaching launch time. We are not sure, but we are interested in what Android OS this beast will come equipped with - 3.1 or better.
