If you have forgotten that distinctive buzzing sound of the rotary dial phones, the image above must have taken you aback and reminded you of that good old days. It may seem bizarre but retro is the order of the day, especially in the fashion and concept selling segment.

The Steampunk rotary mechanical is a new concept phone by a New Zealand designer Richard Clarkson. This amazing concept phone comes in a unique design with two interchangeable brass dials and a true rotary dial, plus a button dial.
"The design of the phone references both steampunk and minimalistic genres to combine and contrast the different forms and surface finishes," Clarkson says. Similar to the lens changing process of a camera, the concept device offers the users different interchangeable brass dials.
The Rotary Mechanical phone comes enclosed in a electroplated copper case in a coat of four vivid paints. The device showcases a simple touchscreen to display contacts and other contents in the front panel. On papers, it may look creative and cool but the device doesn't seem practical due to the overload of metal coatings.
