Leading Consumer Electronics company, Salora International is the recent entrant to join the busting multi-crore mobile business. The company unveiled two of its budget handsets SM501 and SM401 and is expected to add another eight devices over the next one year.

Speaking on the occasion of launch Mr. Gopal Jiwarajka, Managing Director, Salora International Ltd. said "we would bring handsets in the Rs 1,500-4,000 bracket because this is where we see the biggest demand," clearly indicating its focus on smaller towns.

Targeted at multimedia lovers, these budget handsets - SM501 and  SM401 have bar form factor and come with Dual SIM and social networking capabilities. Sporting striking colors both the handsets comes equipped with a wide range of high quality features and applications. In addition the new handsets are touted to posses amazingly sound quality thanks to the K series amplifier technology and cutting-edge style.

One of the unique properties of the handsets is that they allows users to operate in hindi, English as well as regional languages, like Bengali, punjabi among others.

Mr. Jiwarajka  further added, “Salora International is a leader in innovation and pioneering technology in the audio, video & telecom industry for last 35 years. This technical competence is now being incorporated by us in the Salora range of mobile phones. Its audio technology has led to an incredible sound performance with high quality K class amplifier. As the mobile business is growing leaps and bounds, we are increasingly seeing a slew of domestic as well international brands making a foray into the market. Looks like they have read the Gartner's report which indicates that India will be accounting for 220 million handsets in the current fiscal- looks like there is enough pie to go around. Or is it?
