Android is the flavor of the season and it is quite evident from the slew of Android devices which have been raining in India. LG Optimus Black is the latest to join the Android bandwagon.
Launched almost two months after the LG Optimus 2X, this lightest high-end smartphone in the market packs in a slew of exciting features at a unbelievable price range of Rs 19,990.
The LG Optimus Black sports a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen and comes with a display resolution of 480x800 pixels. Layered with a Gorilla Glass over its IPS LCD screen, this scratch resistant smartphone makes for a great viewing experience.
Talking about the user interface, unfortunately the device packs in the earlier Android 2.2 OS but promises to bring a gingerbread update next month. We are crossing our fingers - the Android 2.3 treatment will definitely make this device all the more desirable. On the hardware front, we see 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, which supports a 512MB of RAM, and 2GB of internal storage.
Strapped to two cameras a primary rear-facing 5 mega-pixel camera with autofocus and LED flash and a secondary front-facing 2 mega-pixel camera for video chats, the LG Optimus Black overall boasts of some pretty good specs. Bringing in good connectivity options like the GPRS, EDGE, 3G, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi and DLNA, LG Optimus Black is equipped with a 1500mAh Li-Ion battery which offers up to 6 hours of talk time and 375 hours of standby time.
Available in black, pink, silver, white and brown, LG Optimus Black comes with a expandable memory of 32GB and includes A-GPS, proximity sensor, digital compass and an accelerometer.
LG Optimus Black faces stiff competition from several other Android devices in the market like HTC Sensation, Samsung Nexus S, HTC Desire and from handsets that will be hitting the markets soon.
