Front facing cameras are the need of the day, especially with the video calling feature increasingly becoming quite popular. Now a days everybody is looking for a handset with 3G capability, including a front facing camera for live video chat over the phone.
Earlier there were no clue that whether the new upcoming Windows Phone 7 running devices will support front facing cameras or not. But now it is in the rumours that the next generation Windows Phone 7 featuring smartphones will be featuring front facing cameras for video calling.
There are some people who have played around with the Beta 2 Mango dev tools, who have noticed an interesting icon on the camera screen of the device running WP7 Mango.
The icon displays an arrow coming around from the back of a handset towards its front side, which signifies that the icon is a toggle switch to manage the front facing camera on the device. However, the present generation Windows Phone 7 based mobile phones won’t be featuring it. It makes it pretty clear that the next batch of devices would have them. Does this mean that Skype integration may also be there with WP7 Mango?
Recently a news came out that Nokia is also working over its first Windows Phone 7 running mobile phone. However, there is no word yet from the company that whether its first Mango based handset will be including front-facing camera or not.
Lets see what actually happens and when Windows Phone 7 based devices comes to the market then only we will actually be able to know, whether the new OS supports front facing camera in them or not.
