Apple and Windows Phone Apps battle heat up
Published on Jul 4, 2011
Its just few months back, when the Windows market place crossed the mark of 15,000 Apps and now it has reached to a mark of 25,000 plus. Since, Microsoft made changes in the submission policy, back in the month of march the rate of growth has immensely increased.
This increase is really something unusual and average as compare to the BlackBerry and Android markets. The Windows Phone 7 is tracking 24,784 Apps globally and explains 4,025 of them as inactive, however 51% of the Applications are available for free of cost. Whereas, for paid apps the users have to shell out $1.48 (Rs. 75 approx) per application.
Microsoft seems to be building up an excellent momentum for application developers. The company has disclosed that now has more than 40,000 Windows Phone application developers, who are engaged in delivering around 100 new apps every day.
On the other hand, Apple is offering more than 1,00,000 Apps for its iPad on the App Store as per online website macstories. A few weeks back at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), it has announced that there are 90,000 iPad apps. However, now within less than a month's time, it seems that number has increased to the extent of more than one lakh.
It appears that both of these smart gizmo developing giants are in some kind of battle, to develop more and more Apps to defeat the other one.
