Sandeep Kedia, Director Mobile Phones Division, Techcom said, "we see Rajasthan as one with immense potential and the move will help us in consolidating our presence in this part of the county. We plan to set up more than 40 distributors and 40-50 service centers to tap the booming semi-urban and rural market of Rajasthan."
Aiming to capture around 3-5% market share in the state by next year, the company is looking at developing a "robust after-sales service" and a "sizeable network of channel" to cover all the major cities in the states particularly Jaipur, Udaipur, Bhilwara, Sri Ganganagar, Jhunjhunu and Kota.
According to news reports the company is also planning to invest Rs 100 crore in several branding and marketing activities over next three years to increase its market share. "We expect to sell around 54 lakh handsets by the end of this fiscal," said Kedia. The company has presence in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh West Bengal and Bihar.
With stiff competition from domestic players like Spice, Micromax, Lava and other new entrants, Tech-Com aims to launch stylish, user friendly and budget handsets to tilt indian mobile users in their favor.
