A latest report from an online website says Saregama in association with Timbremedia is bringing mobile radio to the Indian consumers. This radio will provide users with desi music from stations in all major Indian languages.

Timbremedia is a company set up by an ex-employee of World Space radio, which is likely to introduce mobile internet radio in India very soon. The company is talking to operators these days to introduce the service, as soon as possible in the coming months.

Saregama is one of the largest music brands in India, has got 10 per cent of stake in Timbremedia, and will be offering music content to the company for its mobile radio service.

"Mobile radio business in India is booming, and we in partnership with Timbremedia will launch services to cash in on the growth." told Adarsh Gupta, business head of music at Saregama India, in an interview given to 'The Mobile Indian.'

This upcoming service will be provided to the users through voice, where they will have to call a pre-defined number to listen to the radio channel of their preference. Although, there will be another medium of an app also provided, Which can easily be downloaded on the mobile phone and will stream live radio using data channels.

M Sebastian, chief operating officer of Timbremedia, told Mobile Indian, "We will have several channels based on different genres of music, so that users have maximum options. Some of these channels will be similar to what was available on World Space radio service, and there will be other customised channels if the operators want them."

Morover, he also added, "Worldspace stations like Farishta, Jhankaar, Gandharv, and Shruti, to name a few, will be back again soon on mobile and other platforms."

Currently, Timbremedia is plannig to use music content from Saregama's library and also from other famous music labels in India to offer non stop Indian music like old Hindustani classical, Hindi films, Carnatic classical, new Hindi music, ghazals, and stations in major Indian languages.
