Facebook launches video chat feature in collaboration with Skype
Now use facebook to make phone calls via skype

With the recent launch of the Google+ Social Network, it shouldn’t take a genius to imagine that Facebook would have butterflies in its stomach. Well, that certainly doesn’t seem to be the case with the company launching the video chat feature on the social network in coalition with Skype.
This will basically bring Skype like features to Facebook with friends being able to have a one on one video chat with each other. This service is said to improve the user friendliness of the social network with more options for a user to interact with friends and family. And to supplement that service, Facebook will also be launching a voice calling service to phones across the world. This is basically what Skype is known for, so Facebook couldn’t have asked for a better partner than Skype.
Well, what this service will do is give users an opportunity to interact with their friends via voice calling services. And unlike the video calling feature, users will be able to make calls to their online friends on their phones. Though the concept seems a bit edgy since it’s already available in the scene, Facebook wouldn’t mind having it under their kitty.
This service of course will not be free and users will have to pay for every call made. Though it is quite unclear as of now as to whether users will have to pay in terms of Facebook credits or Skype credits. Either way, it doesn’t seem like much of a bother. And the folks at Skype and Facebook are also considering calls from Skype to Facebook and vice versa, which could be a good addition too.
There is no word on the launching of the phone calling service.
With services like Google Voice already available in the market which offers international calling at a very reasonable price, Facebook Voice Calling could have a tough time. But given the millions of users that Facebook has it shouldn’t be hard for them to cope with it.
