According to Pocket Now, a LG Android smartphone with a sliding full physical qwerty keyboard is readying up for launch. Rumored to be the successor of  Optimus One, the smartphone dubbed as LG Optimus Slider is said to be powered by a dual core processor and sport a 4 inch display.

Running on Android Gingerbread, the mobile device apparently is codenamed  Gelato Q and will feature a HVGA touchscreen resolution of 480×320.

While the picture (see right box) is just a  prototype, the final product is expected to bear strong resemblance to it. Though a lot of key features continue to be under tight wraps, like the shape of the keyboard or the integration of the second screen, we are sure of one thing that the mobile device will be high on the style quotient.

The Optimus Slider is speculated to be launched this September, and we hope to see this budget Android smartphone in india probably towards November- December.

There was another spotting from the LG stable recently. One of their budget android phones known as LG Optimus Pro was leaked on flickr. This touch-and-type qwerty Android powered smartphone is said to give tough competition to Samsung Galaxy Pro.

Very few specs are available at the moment, the ones which have been leaked include a bar qwerty touch form, 2.8 inch screen, 3 mega-pixel camera, Wifi-GPS capabilities and a 1500 mAh battery power.

The smartphone also packs in the a music and video player and supports MP3, AMR, AAC, AAC+ format as well as H.264/MPEG4. No news on the processor though we don't see it being less than 800 Mhz.

Apart from LG Optimus Pro and LG Optimus Slider, a series of other smartphones namely,  Samsung Chief, LG Q, LG Optimus B and Motorola Sunfire were leaked online recently.
