The Apple's latest tablet iPad 2, which has already proved to be a great hit in the global market, will probably get a facelift. This update is said to include attarcative features inaddition to the much talked about retina display.
Dubbed as 'iPad HD', this tablet will be a variant of iPad 2 and will be seen sporting a 9.7-inch display with 2048x1536 pixels with the density of 260 ppi (points per inch) for a crystal clear view. This will alllow apps to be conveniently scaled to the improved resolution with the least processor overhead as well as zero effort from the developer's side.
Also such improvement in terms of a high-resolution display would benefit the iPad users, as it will make it more convenient for them to read text on websites, eBooks, PDFs, or digital magazines, etc.
LG, the company who developed the 3.5inch 326ppi retina display for iPhone 4, has already announced in the May that it is developing 9.7-inch advanced AH-IPS displays with up to 2 times the resolution of any standard display.
Somehow we don't believe that the smartdevices manufacturing giant would introduce a new version of iPad so soon. As it has shipped the iPad 2 in huge volume in the most recent quarter. Instead, there are possibilities that the new display will make its way into an iPad 3, which is expected to be rolled out somewhere around Q1 end next year.
