Nokia S40 handsets getting new Browser

Nokia has unvieled a new browser for the S40 handsets. The latest browser includes best features of the older browser as well as offers some new features which will make web browsing more convenient and and cost efficient.

This latest browser for series 40 mobile phones will now be called Nokia Browser, unlike the earlier one that was known as OVI browser.

It works on the data compression technology which makes web browsing tad bit cheaper and faster. Using this technology websites get compressed at the server level, before being sent to the handsets. This lets the gadget to finish tasks while reducing data downloads.

Besides, multi page browsing, website categorizing based on the type of content has also been introduced in the browser. It will definitely develop a way for new touch and type phones basically.

In addition, the series 40 browser is going to feature support for web applications for the very first time. This new attribute will now let you opt for a web based application and add it to your browser, provided it is compatible with the new browser.

The new S40 browser will be preloaded in all the upcoming series 40 OS supporting devices from the company. Some of these handsets are  Nokia C2-02, C2-03 and C2-06.
