Could this be Sony Ericsson’s bid for the best dual core smartphone?
Sony Ericsson Duo leaked yet again
Published on Jul 13, 2011
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Duo has leaked in the internet before, but there hasn’t been any substantial info available about the device. And the handset has leaked again, but this time posing for a press photograph.
Similar pictures of the device have been spotted before, so nothing new in that aspect. But this confirms the device’s availability and also sheds light on some of its features and availability.
The word Duo has excited a bunch of people. Previous rumors have claimed that the handset could feature a dual core processor made by Qualcomm with each core clocked at 1.4 GHz.
That would make the Duo one of the fastest smartphones in the world in terms of sheer clock speed (if it turns out to be true). The dual core processor is almost confirmed making the Duo one of the handsets to look forward to.
Other specs are said to be a 4.5 inch display with a qHD resolution powered by the Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine. And to add to the list is a 12 mega-pixel camera with the Sony Exmor R Sensor, a relatively bigger 2500 mAh battery and Android 2.3 Gingerbread of course.
Some of the rumored specs of the device seem too good to be true and that is why we suggest you to take it merely as a rumor for now. The handset apparently will be launched by September.
Sony Ericsson has a couple of other handsets lined up for launch in the form of the Xperia txt, the Xperia active, the Xperia ray and the Xperia mini pro (new). These handsets are aimed at mid ranged markets like India where handsets like the first gen Xperia mini and mini pro have been widely popular.
Sony Ericsson’s current line up of handsets suggests that both the market segments (i.e. budget ranged and high end) will be dealt with accordingly. Sony Ericsson has a great market share in India. The recently launched Xperia Arc was widely popular, though the pricing was not liked by many.
