Facebook is one of the most widely popular social networking site across the globe. In a bid to bring people around the world a great Facebook experience, the company has  launched a Facebook for Every Phone app.

Offering a comprehensive Facebook experience on over 2,500 different phones, the app allows all popular Facebook features like News Feed, Inbox, and Photos. In addition to this you will also be able to upload photos and find friends from your phone’s contacts.

The app can be simply downloaded from m.facebook.com. Once on the page, scroll down to download the link or just enter d.facebook.com/install to directly load it into the mobile browser.

Facebook goodie bag has more surprises. Facebook for Every Phone app also offers free data access for 90 days. According to the Facebook page of FB for Every Phone, "this experience is optimized to use less data than other Java apps or mobile sites, making it much more affordable for people to use when the 90-day period ends."

For Indian mobile users Facebook has tied by with Aircel and Airtel carriers to offer free data access for 90 days to the app users. The Facebook for Every Phone app is now available globally on any Java-enabled phones and the company is working towards making this app compatible with more handsets going forwards.

Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg mentioned that the site has 750 million active users, out of which  250 million active users use mobile platforms to access the site and have proven to be "twice as active on Facebook than non-mobile users." It therefore does not come as a surprise that Facebook is getting more and more people hooked up through mobile.

While Facebook apps are offered through smartphones for iOS and Android, there are still a significant amount of people who don't use smartphones. A Pew Research Center study indicates that 83 percent of U.S. adults have a mobile phone, out of which only 42 percent of them have a smartphone.

The number of smartphone users is significantly lower in India. Facebook with its Every Phone app embraces feature phones and is bound to hit the right chord with people no matter where they are or how they access the site.
