At the Computex trade show in Taipei, ViewSonic unveiled world's first dual OS tablet, ViewPad 10 Pro. A product of the California-based visual technology firm, the device comes integrated with both Windows 7 and Google's Android platforms. With the dual being the buzz world in the tech industry today be it dual SIM's, dual cameras, dual screens - with ViewPad 10 Pro we migrate to the new dual OS tablet world.

Back in May, Kai Wang, a ViewSonic product manager said, "while iPad users are aimed for entertainment, our new machine has functions more than that." ViewSonic is not kidding. With dual OS - Window 7 and Android Froyo, the tablet is completely in sync with enterprise servers and provides you a unique user experience while web browsing as well as with business applications. The tablet also allows for an instantaneous switch between the two OSes without turning off the tablet.

A little over 830 grams, the ViewPad 10 Pro comes equipped with a Intel Pine Trail N455 1.66 GHz processor and DDR3 2 GB RAM. Sporting a 10.1 inch capacitive touch display with 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, the device comes strapped with a 1.3 megapixel camera and features up to 32 GB SSD storage capacity. The device also provides a host of connectivity options through mini VGA port and MicroSD slot.
Priced at roughly around Rs 38,000, the tablet is expected to hit the Indian market by 24th July through Reliance Retail among others.

In an interview to The Mobile Indian, Ajay Sharma, country manger, Viewsonic, India said, "we plan to have eight tablets in the Indian market. We are not playing the pricing game here. We are focused on better technology and quality and plan to reach consumers with the right product that meets their personal as well as professional requirements."

Along with this 10 inch Windows/Android dual OS WiFi 3G tablet Viewsonic is also launching a 7 inch Android 2.2 tablet. This tablet is powered by a 600 MHz processor which is quite low, taking in consideration that most of the smartphones these day come with 800 MHz processor. The tablet supports  a VGA camera at the front and 3 megapixel camera at the back and has a battery backup of 3240mAh unit. Priced at Rs 19,000, the Android Froyo tablet is slated to be launched with ViewPad 10 Pro this month.
