Wave 725: Second smartphone in Samsung Bada 2.0 trilogy revealed

Early this year Samsung added Wave 578 smartphone, another sleek device to its successful Wave portfolio. The first phone in the bada family which comes enabled with Near Field Communication (NFC) connectivity, Wave 578 boasted of impressive specs like 3.2 inch touchscreen with multi-touch functionality plus QuickType feature, a VGA camera on the front and a rear camera having 3.2 megapixel and a host of connectivity options.

We had earlier reported on Samsung's plan to release three Wave models this year. The first model was Wave 578, while the other two wave models remained a mystery. Well the veil has lifted, partly. The second Bada OS 2.0.powered phone has been revealed to be Wave 725.

Leaked on the Badaworld, Wave 725 resembles Wave II in looks and sports strong specs. The 2.0 Bada powered smartphone will come packed with a 3.65-inch with a 320x480 display and a 5 meg-pixel camera along with connectivity options through Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi.

Speculated to be a wallet-friendly device, Wave 725 with its NFC support, improved UI, seamless multitasking options and enhancements will surely strike the right chord with the indian costumers.

According to reports the  Bada platform have been performing well overseas, even better than in States. In fact in India bada based handsets have performed extremely good. While Samsung's Android based smartphone continue to be sought after by the Indian consumers, the company is looking at capturing more market share with its proprietary OS, Bada powered Wave models. According to Samsung, it currently holds 10-15% in India, in the smartphone segment and is aiming to grow it to 30% by this year.

While there is no confirmation on release date, it is rumored that the Wave 725 will hit Indian markets between September -December.

The name of the third smartphone in the Bada 2.0 trilogy is still unknown, but we do know that it bear similar specs to Wave 725 which includes NFC, enhanced home screen as well as support for third party social networking clients.
