Acer Iconia Tab A100 delayed till September
Published on Jul 15, 2011
We all were expecting the awaited Acer Iconia A100 tablet by this Spring. But now the brand has decided to postpone the date to September for its release. It makes clear that, all you Acer fans who have been waiting for the Android 3.0 tablet with seven inches of screen, will have to wait some more time.
It was revealed on a Facebook post made by Acer Germany in response to a query by a fan. However, the September date has been mentioned there, but they didn't explain the reason behind the delay.
When the Acer Tab will finally get launched in september, it may not be releasing in the Europe only. US market is expected to get the device through WalMart for a probable amount of $349 (15,539.92 INR).
We had earlier heard the rumour, according to which the Acer Iconia Tab A100 would release with latest Android 3.2 OS. May be Acer had been trying to use Android 3.0 in the tablet, but then found not so compatible the on small screen size devices like 7-inches device Tab A100.
As the newest Android version, Android 3.2 works perfectly on the tablets that are small and provides proper tweaks on the interface and apps, the Acer Tab A100 would certainly include the 3.2 version.
The specs are likely to be quite close to the larger Tab A500 with the same powerful Tegra 2 processor as well as the dual cameras. There might be a 512MB of RAM and 8GB as on board memory. However, there is no word from the company about other other variant, but we still hope to see its another model with 16GB.
