“This is our new baby,” this is how Steve Jobs introduced Apple’s new device. Whether it is a new device or an upgraded version of a previous model, Apple product lovers always wait anxiously for its new products. Not without a reason - upgraded version always bring something new and special for its consumer, as iPad2 brought with it.
Packed with a A5 Processor, dual camera, LED display and a lot more, iPad 2 was greeted with much fanfare in India. The successor iPad 3 is no small fry either. The third generation device is expected to be power packed with much-advanced graphics, retina display, SD slots, and much lighter and thinner body than the iPad2.
It is also reported that Apple has dealt with an Taiwan company for the manufacturing of the iPad 3, anticipating a huge demand. The popularity of the second generation tablet, made it sell like hot cakes, leading to severe shortage in several countries.
Rumored to be launched between September- October this year, iPad 3 is speculated to pack in a 128 GB memory which might be good enough for the replacement of the laptop, in addition to a thunderbolt port through which we can access Internet much faster.
While some the of the iPad3 specs have made their way to the online forums, most of them continue to be under close wraps. And honestly we are not surprised. Since beginning, Apple is renowned for its secrecy, so one cannot speculate when or iPad3 will entail till it is launched.
But its competitors both international and domestic players like Spice, Zen, lava mobiles and G’ Five are thriving hard to launch their tablets at the earliest. Intel is looking forward to launch the “Ultrabook,” which is going to give tough competition to the ipad3. The cost of the G’Five is likely to be priced around Rs10, 000 and Lava within 15 to 20k range.
Recently EAFT Technologies, a Bangalore based Indian company launched a tablet in the Indian market. Dubbed as MagicTile-Marathon, the tablet packs in a 10.1-inch display, NVIDIA Tegra 2 and runs on Android OS. Indian mobile manufacturer, Spice is also planning to join the tablet race next month with the introduction of Spice MI 720 for under Rs 20,000.
In addition MSI gearing up to launch tablets boasting amazing specs for Rs. 11,999 and with other manufacturers like Motorola slashing prices of their tablet, it will not be a easy win for iPad 3.
