Samsung introduces Galaxy Q with 5.3’’ display

Samsung will have an exciting invention ready for customers at the IFA 2011 in Berlin come September, if industry sources close to the company are to be believed. According to sources including Yahoo Korea, Samsung is getting ready to launch a new hybrid smart phone, the Galaxy Q.
With a 5.3’’ display, it is prepped to fall into a category all of its own, between their Android handset and Galaxy Tab. With features of both the smartphone and the tablet, this gadget might just be the perfect combination of the two.
The Galaxy Q will have 3G WCDMA and connectivity with 4G LTE, though it is not yet known if it will support voice calls. The European version of the 7’’ Galaxy Tab could be used for voice calls but the American versions supported only data.
The Q will use a Samsung Super AMOLED Plus panel, as does the Galaxy S II, but details about its resolution are unclear. Samsung’s largest display hand set at 4.5’’, the Infuse 4G, currently supports a resolution of 800 X 480. Dell’s Streak at 5’’ smartphone manages the same.
If all goes according to the plan and the Korean manufacturer does release the Galaxy Q this fall, it will successfully bridge the gap between smart phones and tablets. Once the phone is out, people will no longer have to choose between the two, but can go in for the device with a bit of both. This might take the heat off Samsung for a while, since they are facing allegations from Apple for copying designs, styles and literally everything else from the iphones and the ipads. Nevertheless, Samsung has cut into the Apple market in a big way.
