Lenovo’s 7-inch tablet dubbed as Ideapad leaked online

Lenovo Ideapad A1-07

Published on Jul 25, 2011

Lenovo, a company well known for its range of electronic products announced sometime back that it would launch a tablet codenamed the Ideapad P1 in India. The Ideapad has already generated waves in the US and is now looking at replicating similar success in India.

The Ideapad does not refer to a single tablet but a range of tablets. It provides an array of tablets including the 10-inch Ideapad K1 to the 7 inch Ideapad A1-07.

Some pictures of the A1-07 have been leaked online by Blurrywild. After providing us with the Honeycomb OS enabled Thinkpad, Lenovo plans to unveil the 7-inch Ideapad. This spells good news for the Indian market, as this will supposedly be a tablet that will provide standard Android OS functionality at a price that would be within an average Joe's price rage.

Lets have a look at the A1-07. This Ideapad looks surprisingly different than its sibling, the K1. It is equipped with a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen along with three physical buttons. It will most probably support a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution. It will have a capable TI OMAP3621 processor and support GPS and 3G. Lenovo plans to provide us with a standard MicroSD card slot as well. The Ideapad would support 3700 mAh battery.

The most revolutionary feature with this tablet would be that it would support a 3G SIM slot. What that means is that you can just insert your 3G SIM and be connected to the net. It also supports a front and back camera making it easy to have a video. Unlike the K1, it will most probably run on a Gingerbread OS.

While the K1 debuts at $500 (Rs. 22,000 approx.),the A1-07 can be expected to be available at a much cheaper price. Watch this space for more news on the Lenovo A1-07.
