Operating Systems (OSs) are gradually battleground for IT dominance. The most renowned Operating system in the world today is the Android and it is no secret that the most sought after movie studio is 20th Century Fox. So, when these two giants forge a friendly relationship, everything seems to become spic and span for Android users.
The net is abuzz with a new Android story - the renowned movie studio 20th Century Fox plans to further enhance the Android platform by providing its movies on Android phones and tablets. We bring you all the chitchat about the partnership between Google and 20th Century Fox.
Despite being one of the world's most popular Operating Systems, the Android has till now failed to impress with its media capability. As Google is eyeing the most popular OS title, it wants to cover up on that count. Google has tried to assure its Android users repeatedly of its media capabilities. It recently gained Netflix clearance. But things have started looking better for Android users.
Everyone is fond of movies today and wants them at their own disposal. Apple has been forever offering movies on its iTunes. So, why should Android stay behind. going a step ahead, Google comes out with an option to download 20th Century Fox movies on its phones and tablets. In the words of Vincent Marcais, senior vice-president for marketing at Twentieth Century Fox International Home Entertainment, “The starting point for us is that people like to own a movie,We need a business model that satisfies that need and Blu-ray is the business model that satisfies that.”
The Android is going to have an advantage over all Operating Systems because it all the titles that it plans to showcase are going to be Blu-ray movies, which offers much more clarity than any avail format. The service will debut in Europe and U.S. first and then come to Asia.
This feature will be a milestone for both as it is the first feature of its kind. It will result in increased revenue and publicity for both Google and 20th Century Fox.
