Earlier this month we had written about the possibility that Windows Phone Mango may be launched earlier than expected. Guess what? We were bang on the target. Not only only in regards to the earlier launch but also the manufacturer who might be taking the lead to release the first Windows Phone 7 phone.
Microsoft had showed off four new WP7 Mango handsets at the Worldwide Partner Conference from manufacturers like Acer, ZTE and Fujitsu. At the event while the Samsung device for obvious reasons got much of the limelight, the focus eventually turned towards Fujitsu who was being pointed out as the first manufacturer to roll out a Windows Phone Mango handset.
Well the handset has been unveiled. Dubbed as Fujitsu IS12T, the handset will be available in Q4, only in Japan. At just 113g the smartphone runs on CDMA version and boasts of impressive specs which includes a 3.7-inch screen and a amazing 13.2-megapixel camera. Equipped with a storage capacity of 32GB including a 11 days standby, Fujitsu IS12T comes with a slew of new improvements that Windows Phone 7 Mango packs. Some of the improvements can be seen in e-mail conversation view which will allow a quick scan of the conversation with a contact, threads that unify texts and emails and social networking chats among others.
After Japan, the first Windows Phone 7 Mango handsets scheduled to hit UK in September include HTC Omega and Eternity and leaked LG Fantasy.
Apart from Acer and ZTE, perhaps the most awaited Windows Phone 7 Mango phones will be from Nokia. The Finnish cell phone maker tied up with the Microsoft on Windows Phone 7 and to collaborate on future handsets and technologies earlier this year.
