Mozilla is planning to use the Android open source OS to beat the android market. Already a good number of mobile web browsers are available in the market, such as, the Opera Mini, Skyfire, Safari, Google Android, Microsoft IE for mobile, Firefox mobile and Bolt etc. And, all of them differ from each other in many respects.
Now Mozilla the renowned Firefox web browser developer has planned to come up with a new open source mobile operating system codenamed Boot to Gecko (B2G).
With the launch of B2G web centric mobile OS, Mozilla will fill the gaps that keeps the web developers to design new apps which are in all ways equal to the native apps of the iPhone, Android, windows phone 7 and Blackberry.
The new web browser will have totally new user interface (UI) and will be primarily focused on the web-apps. Dubbed B2G, it will use the HTML5 capabilities to deliver basic phone functionality via various API’s.
With the launch of this OS it is sure that the web developers and API users will get a new opportunity to work on the new and unique applications that might support a large number of mobile handsets.
