It is raining tablets nowadays. Not only the global market but even the domestic market has heated up with tablet launches. There are many domestic brands in the market today, which are providing us with India-centric tablets. One such company is Beetel.
It has been in the news for some time that Beetel, a Bharti Group company, is going to launch its own tablet. The much anticipated tablet hits the shelves this week. Beetel’s tablet PC – the Magiq, is specifically designed to cater to the Indian consumer. Offered at Rs. 8,990, Beetel has provided us with one of the cheapest tablet PCs around.
Magiq is a 7” capacitive touchscreen tablet which runs on Android 2.2 – Froyo OS and is powered by a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor. It is equipped with a front VGA camera and a 2-megapixel one at the back. It provides 8 GB built-in storage and runs on a 2200 mAh battery. In short, it fits all the requirements of an economy tablet.
But what is Beetel’s selling point with the Magiq? This tablet offers 3G connectivity. You just need to insert your 3G SIM and have high-speed internet on the go. Besides, its Android 2.2 Froyo OS has been recognized as one of the most user-friendly operating systems.
Quite obviously, this tablet is not competing with high-end tablets such as Apple’s iPad 2 or Motorola’s Xoom, instead, it has created its own niche. This tablet adheres to the Indian budget consumer and provides us what we have been longing for – portability along with affordability.
