Vodafone set to dazzle Indian market with its Facebook phone

Vodafone has been one of the most popular networks in the world. It caters to not only Europe but also to the Asian subcontinent, including India. It has tried its hand at the phone market by launching budget phones. Now, it plans to come out with its own budget smartphone.

Vodafone launched its own Facebook phone earlier this month in UK. After its astonishing success in the UK, Vodafone plans to thrill Indian users by launching this phone here.

Vodafone has a perfect recipe at hand - An enhanced network, the best Social Media around and a smartphone. The telecom giant plans to target the budget smartphone range with this phone.

The 555 Blue Vodafone phone is designed to cater to Facebook users. The phone is engineered to lure Facebook addicts. It is equipped with an attractive 2.4-inch display and QWERTY keypad. It makes it smooth and easy to type, chat, email and use text messages to update your status.  It has a customized Facebook button which is built for a user to easily access the network. One can easily upload photos, status updates, links etc. at the touch of a button. The device also updates automatically every 20 minutes, which can be customized according to the users' preference.

The phone offers SMS, MMS, email and Facebook together with its integrated messaging service. The 555 Blue will use the Opera mini 5 browser and will support Bluetooth and EDGE (2.5G) for enhanced connectivity.

Not only that, this phone looks surprisingly similar to another expensive smartphone, the HTC Chacha, which comes at about 3 times the price. In fact, it replicates most of Chacha's high-end features such as its Candybar form, QWERTY  keyboard and touchscreen display. 

In addition to that, Vodafone will offer its preferential data packs with the phone. India is actually the largest market for both Vodafone and Facebook, so it is a win-win situation for both.
