After experiencing multiple delays, it seems that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is finally gearing up for a launch in India. The Android Honeycomb tablet which was speculated to hit India after its US launch on June 8, is rumored to be arriving on August 10.
Earlier expected to be launched in july, the Tab's release in India has not been officially confirmed from Samsung India. There is no official word on the pricing either but since the Tab competes with iPad 2, it might be within the same price range of Rs 20,000. The Tablet will be officially released in UK on August 4, 2011.
Equipped with a stunning 10.1-inch display, the Tab is powered by a Android Honeycomb and a NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. Supporting dual cameras, a 3 mega-pixel camera and a 2 mega-pixel camera, the Tab 10.1 is beats Apple's iPad 2 in the thinness competition. Integrated with a battery of 7,000 mAh battery, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 promises a video time of nine hours or 72 hours of music.
There has also been talks about the Samsung Tablet pairing with the Android 3.1 Honeycomb OS. The Android 3.1 OS will give the Tab enough muscle to wrestle the iPad.
The latest update that brings a number of features to the tablets like Live Panel, Mini Apps tray, Clipboard and Indicator Quick Panel for toggling Wi-Fi, widgets for instant access to social updates and news among others, will help it differentiate itself from other players in the market.
Samsung recently also showcased a video displaying their new TouchWiz UI on Galaxy Tab 10.1 that promises to expand and better the tablet experience for the consumers. The new update while adding several apps like Google Books, deletes some others like Kindle and Amazon.
We hope that Samsung sticks with the release date this time and doesn't keep the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 lovers waiting.
