Nokia’s first MeeGo smartphone N9 is expected to hit the Swiss market on September 15 with Orange. The company has already enlisted this phone in the upcoming smartphones. But it is not clear whether the company is taking the pre-orders or not. However, orange is likely to announce it in a short while with the complete price details.
Nokia has not yet come up with the global launch date of this smartphone. Nokia is launching it in some specific countries like Russia and then the European countries like Sweden. When the product will be globally launched that remains a question. It is even reported that Nokia is a big skeptical about the launch of its first MeeGo phone and that is due to the windows phone 7, which might affect the sale of Nokia N9.
So, that might be the reason why Nokia is launching its MeeGo phone in those countries where the Windows phone 7 have not yet arrived completely. Though, Nokia N9 runs on a complete unique platform MeeGo, which has a complete new user interface. This phone is equipped with 3.9 inches AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16 million-colour support and 480 x 854 pixels resolution.
The phone resembles a lot with the Apple iPod, you can’t take out its battery. You won’t even get a button to operate or click the pictures. It is more or like full touch screen phone. It runs on 1Ghz Cortex A8 TI OMAP processor, 16 GB internal memory and 1GB RAM. The phone only supports Micro SIM card, MicroSD card slot is not there.
But, besides all this it has 8 mega pixel camera with carl Zeiss optics, auto focus, dual LED flash, vides recording and front facing camera.
So, there is no information about when the phone is coming to India. But one thing is there that Nokia needs not to worry with the windows phone 7, because its next model “Sea Ray” is also coming with the windows phone 7.
