Last week, Nokia created a revolution in the smartphone industry with the announcement of Lumia 1020, the much awaited Windows Phone 8 based PureView 41-megapixel camera phone. Since its launch, the handset has received rave reviews from tech critics.
However, the Finnish tech giant is hoping to excel in the global smartphone market with its innovative Lumia phone that is capable of stealing the spotlight. Among the prominent global markets, the company seems to consider India as well. Yes! Nokia seems to be gearing to launch its new flagship phone in India soon, most likely next month.
Talking about the price of the Lumia 1020, the 41-megapixel camera phone is expected to go on sale on July 28 in U.S. and is speculated to be exclusive to AT&T at $299. This price might sound attractive for many, but it is based on a two year contract with the carrier. On the other hand, for those consumers who would like to get the unlocked variant, the handset is expected to cost $650.
For Indian consumers, an optimistic estimation of Lumia 1020 would be somewhere between Rs 38,000 - 41,000 approximately- in sync with the pricing of other flagship smartphones like Xperia Z, Galaxy S4 and others.
On the specs front, the Lumia 1020 incorporates a 41-megapixel rear snapper with Xenon Flash, LED flash and a 1.2-megapixel front camera for video calls. The handset also packs in a 4.5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display and a resolution of 1280x768 pixels. It is also equipped with a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor paired with 2GB of RAM.
Further, it comes with 32GB of internal storage and a 2,000 mAh battery.
