Finnish phone manufacturer Nokia is slowly but surely coming on to its own. Its Lumia line-up of handsets is growing well and the Lumia 625 is evidence that the tech giant is diversifying in more ways than one. The Lumia 625 stands out from its siblings and other competitors with its large display - in fact, the largest on a Nokia smartphone at 4.7-inch.

A dual-core 1.2 GHz Krait CPU and an Adreno 305 GPU make up the Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8930 chipset that powers the handset. The phone runs on Microsoft's much improved Windows Phone 8 operating system and is line for an upgrade to the well endowed Amber build. A 2,000 mAh battery gives the handset all the juice it needs to power through tasks big and small. Users can look forward to a range of apps and features on the phone including HERE, Xbox, Nokia Music, WhatsApp and Temple Run, among others.

The Lumia 625's 4.7-inch IPS LCD screen packs in a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and a pixel density of 199ppi. It boasts of features like Sunlight Readability Enhancement, High Brightness Mode, Colour Enhancement and Super Sensitive Touch. It sports a 5-megapixel rear sensor and a VGA secondary front facer. Innovative camera features on the handset include Nokia's Smart Camera and Cinemagraph.

True to Nokia's stylizing, the 4G enabled smartphone comes in a variety of colours that pop, including orange, yellow and green besides the classic black and white. Though it ships with 8 GB of internal storage and 512 MB of RAM, external memory on the device can be expanded externally by up to 64 GB. The phone also retails with 7 GB of online SkyDrive storage.

Nokia has priced the Lumia 625 at Euro 220 before taxes, which roughly translates to Rs. 18,000. Word around the tech world is that the Finnish tech giant will release the handset in the Indian market as early as the coming weeks. The phone should ideally be available in the country by the end of the month.
