Nokia has been facing some tough times lately but the tech giant is all set to climb the ladder of smartphone success with its new and improved Lumia handset - the Lumia 929. Powerful and well endowed, the Lumia 929 promises to put the Finnish phone manufacturer out there with the best of them.
Nokia's latest creation is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core 2.2 GHz 800 chipset, a 2 GB RAM, an Adreno 330 GPU and a 2,000 mAh battery. The handset runs on Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 operating system, complete with its 3 update. It also comes with Nokia's Lumia Black upgrade. Nokia has built its newbie with a 5-inch Full HD AMOLED display and given it a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels.
The Lumia 929 comes equipped with a 20-megapixel primary camera which, along with the phone's 32 GB of built-in storage, is a dream come true for a photography enthusiast. The phone's camera sports a Carl Zeiss lens, digital zoom and a dual-LED flash. It has the ability to take 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel snapshots simultaneously. Its camera resolution stands at 4472 x 4472 pixels and it boasts of features like optical image stabilization, Full HD video recording and auto focus. Nokia has also given its new handset a secondary front facing snapper which is quite likely a 1.9-megapixel one.
The new Lumia handset is well endowed as far as connectivity is concerned as well. It boasts of connectivity options like 3G, Wi-Fi, USB, GPRS, GPS, 4G LTE, Bluetooth and NFC. The phone can also be charged wirelessly.
Nokia has given its new handset dimensions of 136.5 x 71.4 x 10.5mm and a weight of 166g. According to the leaked image of the handset that Engadget came across on Evleaks, the Lumia 929 looks a lot like the Lumia 925 with its glass covered front panel, its polycarbonate backing and the metal accents around its edges. It is most likely protected by a Gorilla Glass 2 coating as well. The phone is designed in two colour variants - black and white.
The Lumia 929 is priced at around $500-550, approximately Rs. 31,000-34,000, and is expected to release either at the end of this month or sometime next month.
