Rumoured to be the successor of the Lumia 925, Nokia Lumia 930 features top of the line specs and more for Nokia fans

Nokia is gearing up to add a few more devices to its Lumia portfolio. With MWC 2014 just around the corner, reports indicate that the follow-up to Lumia 920 and Lumia 925, dubbed the Lumia 930, maybe announced at the event.

The Lumia 930 is reported to pack quite a punch. The rumoured specifications of the device indicate that Nokia is serious about giving significant internal upgrades to its lineup this year.

The device is purportedly going to come with a quad-core 2.2 GHz CPU paired with 2 GB of RAM. The screen size is speculated to be 4.5-inch, a bit smaller than what other manufacturers are making. The screen will also support a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The phone is rumoured to feature a mouth-watering 20 megapixel Pureview camera with 16 GB of onboard storage with the option of expanding further via a microSD slot.

It looks like the Lumia 930 could just be the Lumia Icon repackaged for the rest of the world. The Lumia Icon was launched recently as a Verizon exclusive with an almost identical set of specifications. The screen size was the only major difference with the Lumia Icon at 5-inch display. It looks like Nokia has cut down on the size to reduce the overall size of the package.

The device is expected to be made official in the coming days at the Mobile World Congress to be held at Barcelona. Since Nokia is usually quite quick to launch its latest devices in India, we can expect that India will feature in the list of the first countries to get the Lumia 930.

The estimated release date should be around some time next month but it is difficult to be sure before Nokia’s official announcement.

Since the Lumia 930 will be the follow-up to Lumia 925, we can expect it to be priced above the current going rate for Lumia 925. With specs that match those of any high-end Android device, we can safely assume that the Lumia 930 will cost north of Rs. 35,000.
