The music player in the Nokia N73 is useful for listening to music that you may have stored on your PC but would like to have access to while out and about.

It can play music from the phone’s internal memory or from a miniSD card. The latter option is useful as you can easily copy files across to the card using a card reader on your PC then pop it into its slot on the bottom edge of the N73.

To start the music player running press the Nokia Menu key to the left of the 1 and 2 keys then choose Music.

If it is the first time you’ve run the music player, or if you have swapped memory cards to listen to different music, the player will search your phone and automatically update its music library.

A column of icons sits down the left hand side of the screen. You move through these with the Scroll key and click the highlighted one you want to control music playback. From top to bottom they have the following actions:

  • topmost icon: play and pause music
  • second icon: previous track
  • third icon: next track
  • fourth icon: stop music playing
  • fifth icon: go online for music downloads
  • sixth icon: go to Music library
  • last icon: view current playlist

To change the volume of tracks playing use the volume rocker on the right edge of the Nokia N73. A bar on screen shows how close to its 100 percent maximum the volume is.

When you have finished with the music player choose Exit with the right Selection key.
