Operating System
We expect the Samsung Galaxy S 3 to sport the latest Android 4.0 version. There is also possibility of a 3D TV-out functionality, which will enable users to watch HD 3D movies on their TV.
Apple's iPhone 5 will no doubt launch alongside a new platform update, most likely iOS 6. Now we have no idea what iOS 6 will feature, but you can bet it will be impressive.
Expect NFC, AirPlay improvements and some new additions to Siri's functionaity.
Winner: Draw
Camera
The Samsung Galaxy S3 wins this round hands down. The super smartphone is likely to sport a 12-megapixel primary camera with dual-LED flash with 1080P video capabilities. It would also be equipped with a secondary 2-megapixel with 720P video capabilities.
On the other hand Apple iPhone 5 is likely to sport a 8-megapixel camera with dual primary shooters for stereoscopic imaging. We may also see a improved secondary camera for a enhanced HD FaceTime action. A improved sensor is also on the cards.
Earlier last year, The New York Times also confirmed that the future iPhone model would feature an NFC chip by Taiwanese manufacturer, Qualcomm.
Winner - Samsung Galaxy S 3
Pricing
Apple products while popular worldwide have not managed to excite the Indian consumers (at least not a whole lot).
One of the major deterrents has been the pricing. The recently launched iPhone 4S is presently being sold in India for a handsome price of Rs 44,000.
On the contrary the bestseller Samsung Galaxy S 2 is priced for just Rs 30,000.
Keeping this trend, we can expect to see Apple's iPhone 5 priced in a similar fashion.
If Samsung prices Galaxy S3 right (just like S2), it may find a bigger following among the budget conscious Indian consumers.
Winner: Samsung Galaxy S 3.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 is expected to be unveiled at the MWC 2012 while the Apple iPhone 5 is slated for a fall launch.
