Micromax has recently introduced its first Android baby Micromax Andro A60 in India. A decent device with basic features, the Micromax A60 is the first 'real' budget Android phone launched in the Indian market. Whereas, the HTC Wildfire, launched some time back, has already a good following and is earning rave reviews around.

We check out the specifications and basic features of both these devices to find out which one should be your ideal Android companion.

Size

HTC's entry-level Android smartphone, the HTC Wildfire measures 106.7 x 60.4 x 12.19 mm in dimensions and weighs 105 grams. Standing closely on the size specs, Micromax's first Android phone A60 battles it out length to length with its 106.8mm x 59.2mm x 14.0mm dimensions and same weight measurements at 105gms.

Screen
When it comes to screen size, Micromax Andro A60 sports a noticeably smaller screen. The Micromax Android A60 displays a 2.8 inch, 62K TFT touchscreen with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. Furthermore, it's also resistive, which simply means that you have to poke it harder to get the desired result. On the other hand, the HTC Wildfire comes with bigger screen display. It sports a non-AMOLED 3.2-inch capacitive screen with 240 x 320 pixels, which is much better to use, and heaps more responsive. It really helps having a large screen when you're texting or typing long messages.

Winner: HTC Wildfire

Camera
In terms of photography skills, the Micromax Andro A60 packs a3.2 megapixel camera with auto-focus. It's an average camera with not so good resolution count as well. With a 3.2 megapixel camera, you won't be able to create close up, poster-sized prints without a grainy overlay. Whereas, the HTC Wildfire features a 5-megapixel camera with flash and is massively talented at taking photos. The Wildfire camera also offers touch-to-focus, face and smile detection, LED flash and geo-tagging to play around with.

Winner: HTC Wildfire

OS

Android OS is gaining grounds and it has become one of the most preferred mobile OS platform in the recent times. That's the reason why more and more companies are working on budget to high-end Android phones. On the OS front, both these devices come equipped with Android 2.1 Eclair OS.

It is speculated that the Micromax Andro A60 may get an upgrade to Android 2.2 Froyo early next year. However, Android 2.1 coupled with HTC Sense UI is brilliant and it works flawlessly on the Wildfire. As long as Wildfire and A60 both are running Android 2.1, there is not much to choose from the OS front.

But if the Andro A60 gets Android 2.2 upgrade in near future, then it certainly will be a step ahead on the OS platform.
