The CES 2011 convention saw a slew of top-end smart phones showcasing unique and innovative features. From the Sony Ericsson stable we saw its highly anticipated phone Xperia Arc.

Boasting of Mobile Bravia display technology, Exmor R and 8 mega-pixel snapper Arc rightly captured the attention of its spectators. Another smartphone from the almighty Apple's stable, iphone 4 also created quite a bit of buzz. Equipped with a 1GHz processor with storage options of 16GB or 32GB versions, this sleek and stylish phone won heart of the spectators with its looks and charms.

Both the smartphones are expected to arrive in India within the next couple of months. To choose one over the other is tough choice, but don't worry, Know your mobile does the dirty work for you to bring you the smartphone that will give you the bang for your bucks.

Size

According to their own admission, Apple engineers didn't create the iphone 4 from scratch. They created the device out of their three years of experience designing the phones and the end result was a beautiful enclosure of 9.3mm phone, the world's thinnest smartphone.

One of the stylish looking devices in the market, Apple iPhone 4 comes in the dimensions of 115.2 x 58.6 x 9.3mm and measures just 135g.
Not any run of the mill phone, iphone 4 has been created to be five times stronger than the standard steel and provides ultimate rigidity packed in a slim and sleek design.

The competitor Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc has no less impressive specs. Xperia Arc comes in the dimensions of 125x 63 x 8.7 mm and weighs just 117g. This  sleek and super-slim arc is made out of premium materials and some beautiful curves that have been squeezed to 8.7mm. Fitting perfectly into your palms, Xperia arc gets a thumbs up for its ergonomics.

Screen

Xperia Arc brings the powers of Android touch phone coupled with a super screen. With its 4.2” Sony Mobile BRAVIA® Engine display which comes in 854x480 in resolution, Xperia Arc brings pictures to life. Falling a few inches short, Apple's iphone 4 brings mobile users a 3.5" retina display with a resolution of 960x640-pixel. Topped with that iphone 4 brings a  fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating on front and back and support for display of multiple languages. While the difference is quite minimal, in this battle we have to give it to the phone that has the biggest screen.

Winner: Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc

Camera

The iPhone 4 comes equipped with a 5-megapixel camera and amazing HD video. Topping that, the device has a advanced backside illumination sensor that lets you capture stunning pictures even in not so bright settings. What will delight Apple users will be the LED flash, who plays dual roles of acting as a flash while taking pictures and as a additional light while shooting videos, so you get a well lit surrounding all the time.

Well we know Sony Ericsson is known for producing amazing camera and music phones. Xperia Arc is no different. Strapped with a 8.1 megapixel camera, this HD phone comes equipped with a Sony Exmor R™ for mobile CMOS sensor that allows you to capture crisp and bright pictures no matter what setting you are in.

Against iphone 4's 5 mega-pixel, it's a no brainer who wins the snapper round.
