We compare the Spice FLO and the Samsung Champ to see which touchscreen phone is better.
The Samsung Champ and the Spice FLO are pretty similar devices in terms of price within India, but how do they compare in terms of specs?
The Spice FLO is a dual band device, while the Samsung Champ is Quad band, allowing you to use it in a wider range of places.
Both are touchscreen candybars, but the Spice FLO's screen is larger at 2.8-inches, compared to the Samsung Champ's 2.4-inches. They have the same resolution of 240x320 pixels, but as the Samsung Champ is smaller, its pixels per inch ratio is higher and should look better quality, although this won't be visible to the naked eye.
The Spice FLO is slightly larger than the Samsung Champ, at 13.5x99x65mm,but this is more to do with the screen size rather than blank space around the screen.
Both devices run on Java, meaning they're not as advanced as smartphones, but this won't matter if you only want to carry out calls, texts, and play the odd game.
In terms of multimedia, the Samsung Champ and Spice FLO both include a 1.3-megapixel camera. Neither have a flash, but both will provide good enough photos for casual photographers.
The Spice FLO and Samsung Champ also have matching battery life. 1000mAh will give you enough juice to running all day, even if you are a heavy user.
The Samsung Champ and Spice FLO are very similar devices. The one thing that may help you make you mind up though, is price. The Samsung Champ comes in at Rs. 100 more than the Spice FLO, so if you're looking at saving money, the Spice is for you. It also features a larger screen, so if you are keen on browsing the internet and viewing videos on a larger screen, this should definitely be your option.
