Gee Pee Infotech has announced the lowest price colour mobile phones for the Indian market

Ever since the Chinese mobile phones have been shown the door due to fake or invalid IMEI number issue, the local mobile phone makers are ruling the roost. Recently, we covered the new mobile devices released by Micromax, Spice Mobile, Karbonn Mobiles and Intex Techonologies. And now Gee Pee Infotech has introduced the cheapest mobile handsets that may ignite some price war among the local mobile manufacturers. At a throw-away price of Rs 500, Gee Pee mobiles are certainly going to be the most awaited releases of year 2010. However, one has to wait and watch for what all other features these colour mobile phones have to offer to the consumers for that proposed low price tag.“We are targeting the rural population. There are people in rural India who aspire to have a mobile phone but cannot afford even Rs 1,000,” Gee Pee Infotech managing director Bijay Agarwal told The Telegraph. Gee Pee mobiles already has its presence in the local market with range of low-end devices. The company presently offers different models at a price range of around Rs 1,000 to Rs 6,000.
