Intex to launch the cheapest Android phone in India

Intex Mobiles plans to release the cheapest Android phone and 4 new models of V.Show in India by February 2011

After the successful launch of Intex V.SHOW (Intex IN 8810) projector phone, Intex Mobiles is all set to jump the Android bandwagon with the launch of a new Android 2.2 device at extremely low price in India. Reportedly, the company also plans to launch four more models of V.Show with Office applications support. The new projector phones will come with some interesting apps and it will help users watch movies, videos, picture galleries and even read e books on their mobile phones.Sudhir Kumar, assistant general manager of the telecom division at Intex, said, "We will launch an Android 2.2 phone in the first week of February and it will be priced at around Rs 5,500."The key features of the new Intex Android phone will be a 3.2 megapixel camera, 2.8 inch resistive full-touch screen, Wi-Fi and GPS, reports Telecomyatra.Already there are couple of cheap Android phones announced in India. Micromax Andro A60 is priced at Rs. 6,999 and Huawei Ideos is expected to cost around Rs. 8,000 in India. The new Intex Android phone at a budget price of Rs. 5,500 will give a tough competition to both these devices in the coming days.
