Samsung India has hinted the possible Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the Samsung Galaxy S in India to its customers on their official twitter account. According to a post on Samsung India's Twitter account, the Gingerbread update for the Galaxy S will be rolled out by the end of this month and the other details will be announced very soon.

This is a good news for all the Indian Galaxy S users, who were waiting for this update to happen for so long. Presently the device is running over Android 2.2 froyo, which is also not bad, but soon you can update it with 2.3 Gingerbread to experience the improvement. This upcoming operating system update is said to be a quarter of a GB in size, which is quite massive in size.

Samsung Galaxy S includes amazing features such as a big 4 inch display and an excellent 5-megapixels camera. This device also allows HD video recording and comes powered by a 1GHz processor. The Galaxy S offers video calling feature that works over 3G, which can be used with another 3G capable device with front facing camera.

The Samsung smartphone is not so bulky but quite light in comparison to many other smartphones, as it weighs just 118 grams. Besides, it provides excellent internal storage space of 16GB or 8GB, which can be extended up to 32GB through a memory card.

With some superb specifications, the device is already a popular choice in India for smartphone users. Also, after the Gingerbread update it will be equipped with more apps and tools. You need to just wait for some more days to make your handset updated with the latest Android version.
